About The Conference

This conference is jointly organised by Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in collaboration with Universiti of Malaya (UM) and the International University of Malaya-Wales (IUMW).

In such a short period of time, the Internet has become an impeccable part of our lives, just as electricity and water supply is impacting almost every facet of our lives. Nevertheless, the growth of the Internet is now being threatened due to the depletion of the current Internet addressing protocol, i.e. Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4). Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) was developed to provide exponentially more IP addresses compared to IPv4 ensuring the growth of the Internet is not hampered. IPv6 also improve on its predecessor protocol, addressing many of the limitations that became apparent as the Internet grew.

With the aims to be IPv6 ready for the public sector by 2013 and for the entire nation by the end of 2015, the success of such milestone very much depend on acceleration in implementation pace, and seminar of this nature can provide just that.

This International conference would feature prominent IPv6 leaders from around the global to share their thoughts and experience in regards to challenges faced in deploying IPv6. This conference is part of National Advanced IPv6 Centre's on-going effort to educate and create awareness on the importance of IPv6 and related issues.
